All About Ms. Brown
I am the youngest of three children. My parents raised my siblings and I in Middletown, New York. After graduating from high school, I moved to Alabama to attend Jacksonville State University. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elemenatry Education with a Social Science Middle-School add-on.
After college, I moved back to New York for a few months and worked for Sylvan Learning Center and as a substitute teacher. Soon there after, I landed my first teaching job, and moved to Virginia! I worked for Colonial Beach Public Schools for 15 years. I held many positions while working for Colonial Beach ranging from 1st Grade - 8th Grade as will as a Title I Supervisor. I have spent the majority of my career teaching 5th grade English Language Arts. While teaching, I earned my Master of Science degree in Reading and Literacy.
Leaving Virginia was hard, but definitely worth it! I am really enjoying working with the students and staff at Clay Elementary. I can't wait to get to know everyone better and continue to spread my passion for learning on to my students.
