Guided Reading Books
Please note the different guided reading levels on each homework sheet. Be sure to reveiw your child's guided reading book level prior to viewing/printing the homework sheet.Text and vocabulary varies depending on the reading level. Students are tested based upon their individual reading level at the conclusion of hte text study.
Class Dojo
Class Dojo is used throughout the day to notify parents of individual and class behaviors. Messages are sent directly to parents via cell phone/email address. It's an easy and convenient way to communicate with the teacher and class. Parents/students who would like to have pictures uploaded to Dojo highlighting sports, academic, community service events, etc. are welcome to message them to Ms. K. Hudson on Dojo.
Language Arts
Over the course of the 3rd nine weeks, students will learn how to compose FIVE paragraphs (total of 5-8 sentences per paragraph). Writings will consists of Opinion topics. Please practice writing daily at home to assist students with this process. Graphic organizers are located on the page titled "Graphic Organizers" to help with brainstorming ideas.
Reading Different Kinds of Genre
As we continue to practice strategies to become proficient readers and writers, we'll learn several different genre. A genre is a specific type and/or style of literature used to represent a period of time in history; or a particular method of writing.
